Wildfire Burning Near Old Buchanan Mine Road

Firefighters are working a wildland fire on Old Buchanan Mine Road to the southeast of Ponderosa Hills subdivision.
The fire is on the north side of the road on US forest service land moving at a slow rate of spread, but has the potential of moving up the canyon hillsides towards the subdivision.
Additional units are responding as well as a CDF helicopter from Columbia Air Attack Base as a precaution at this time.
Sheriff deputies are closing Buchanan Road at Sunrise to all vehicle traffic.
Kary Hubbard with Tuolumne County Fire says the fire is less than an acre in size, but that could change at any time.
