A climber, who lost his friend after they were knocked into a crevasse last week on Oregon´s Mount Hood, says inexperience was to blame. The Reverend Thomas Hillman says a climber above them likely played a major role in the tragedy. He says John Biggs´ death could likely have been avoided. A climber above them didn´t use safety gear properly. That could´ve prevented the human slide that tossed Biggs, Hillman and seven others into the crevasse on May 30th. Hillman suffered a concussion and injured his shoulder in the fall. He´s giving up technical climbing in honor of his friend. The incident also included the crash of an Air Force Reserve Pave Hawk rescue helicopter. It´s the worst hiking accident on Mount Hood in 16 years.
