Marjorie Knoller will either be sentenced tomorrow or she´ll get a new trial. Knoller was convicted of murder in March for the dog-mauling death of neighbor Diane Whipple. She faces 15 years to life in prison. Knoller´s husband, Robert Noel, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter. He faces four years in prison. Knoller says she deserves a new trial. Her defense lawyer made mistakes, there was insufficient evidence for the murder conviction and her constitutional rights were violated. Whipple was killed in January 2001 by two presa canario dogs kept in the couple´s apartment. Unless Judge James Warren grants Knoller a new trial, he will impose sentencing tomorrow.
