AIDS Ride Gets Smaller

The California AIDS Ride says it´s getting a worse response than usual as it tries to recruit riders for the fund-raiser. Only half as many people signed up yesterday as did last year. Ride officials say the low turnout is partly due to the introduction of a competing fund-raiser, the AIDS-LifeCycle Ride, which took place two weeks ago. Since 1994, 11,000 cyclists have participated in the AIDS Ride, raising $40 million for AIDS organizations.
