A Jackson County, Oregon grand jury has declined to file charges against a police officer who fired at a man who tossed a box of Chinese food at him.

Lieutenant Jim Anderson, the commander of Jackson County´s narcotics unit, fired one shot at 24-year-old Jorge Armando Cisneros. The shooting came Cisneros threw a white take-out box containing rice and possibly another dish through the open window of Anderson´s unmarked police car.

The grand jury did return criminal charges against Cisneros and 24-year-old Jose Pepe Banuelos, who was driving a pickup that pulled up behind Anderson´s vehicle.

Cisneros was charged with harassment and second-degree criminal mischief for damage to the vehicle when the Chinese food hit the interior. Banuelos was charged with reckless driving and possession of methamphetamine.
