Jones Mill Fire Nearly Out
Tuolumne County Firefighters are in the mopping stage of extinguishing a stubborn blaze at the old Jones Saw Mill site in Soulsbyville.
The complex was destroyed in a fire that started just after 4:30 yesterday afternoon on Soulsbyville road.
Sonora California Division of Forestry Fire Captain Julie Honer at the scene this morning said crews let the fire burn itself out.
A large pumper truck from Tuolumne County Fire was spraying a constant stream of water on the charred and smoldering debris, while two inmate crews from Baseline camp and a bulldozer fron Tuolumne County are on hand to help the mop-up effort today.
Honer say firefighters hope to have things finished up at the scene by this afternoon.
Tuolumne County Fire Marshall Karry Hubbard says arson has not been ruled out.
