Broadcast Innovator Dead At 93

Television pioneer Sylvester “Pat´´ Weaver, creator of the “Today´´ and “Tonight´´ shows and former president of N-B-C, has died at his home in Santa Barbara. The 93-year-old Weaver was the father of actress Sigourney Weaver. After leaving N-B-C, Weaver also was a pioneer in pay subscription television, but that venture failed.
