Waving Man Dies In Berkley

Old age has claimed Berkeley´s famous “Waving Man.´´ Joseph Charles died yesterday at the age of 91.
Charles won national acclaim for the simple act of waving to passing traffic from the front of his house every morning for three decades. Charles wore a broad grin and his trademark yellow gloves as he called out to motorists on busy Martin Luther King Way to “Keep smiling´´ and “Have a good day.´´
