Mosque Approved In Manteca

An Islamic group may continue to worship in an office building on Main Street in Manteca. The City Council approved a permit for the Manteca Islamic Center yesterday. For six years, Manteca Muslims worshipped at the rented office building until September Eleventh. Area business owners and residents protested the mosque, concerned that it could be the target of hate crimes.
