A statewide poll shows Governor Gray Davis has widened his lead over Republican challenger Bill Simon to eleven points. It also shows voters are generally dissatisfied with both choices. According to the poll conducted by the independent Public Policy Institute of California, Davis leads Simon 41-to-30 percent with two months until Election Day. The new results signify gains for Davis, who led Simon by just four percentage points in a hypothetical matchup before Simon´s March primary victory. However, 54 percent of likely voters said they are not satisfied with either Simon or Davis, compared to 38 percent who say they are satisfied. Republicans were slightly more likely to be dissatisfied with the choices than Democrats. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus two percentage points.
