Two Arrested For Assault And Burglary

Calaveras County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating an assault at the Mar Val Food Store in Valley Springs Wednesday morning. Michael Tarantino and Jerry Warden had taken 3 bottles of alcohol from the store. The manager then approached the subject’s vehicle to take down the license number, when the driver accelerated towards him. The manager of the store was able to jump out of the way and was not injured. Warden and Tarantino were arrested yesterday evening when Sheriff’s Deputies spotted their vehicle. They were booked on charges of burglary and assault with a deadly weapon. They are being held in Calaveras County Jail on 55 thousand dollars bail.
