White Supremacist”s Death A Suicide
An autopsy confirms convicted arsonist and white supremacist Benjamin Williams bled to death in his Shasta County jail cell after cutting himself repeatedly with a smuggled razor blade.
Williams was found on the floor of his cell Sunday morning with severe cuts to his arms, legs and neck from a disposable razor wedged into a plastic ink pen insert.
Redding police say his death was apparently a suicide. With the autopsy completed, they say the case is essentially closed.
Williams was in jail for torching three synagogues in 1999 and for the attempted murder of a corrections officer. He and his younger brother were awaiting trial for allegedly killing a gay couple in Happy Valley in 1999.
