Golden Gate Vista Closed For Rehab

The popular vista point at the north end of the Golden Gate Bridge is closing today for four months as part of a $4.5 million renovation.
The project will include new restrooms, a highway patrol substation and improvements in traffic circulation.
It´s the first major renovation since Bowers Vista Point opened in 1962.
State transportation officials say the vista point handles some 2.5 million visitors a year. Alternate sites in the Marin Headlands have been set up to provide similar views of San Francisco Bay and the city.
