Davis Budget Cuts Hit Colleges

Higher education officials warn that because of spending cuts proposed by Governor Gray Davis California public
colleges and universities may have to consider fee increases and offer fewer courses. About $200 million in state funding is expected to be lost by the universities and community colleges in the fiscal year starting in July 2003.
