Snow Surveys Scuttled

The energy crisis has claimed another victim — snow surveys in the High Sierra. P-G-and-E, which filed for
bankruptcy protection last month, opted not to conduct its usual round of snow surveys as part of the state cooperative venture that provides a look at
California´s water picture. The company says its financial situation and the lack of heavy snow in April combined to scuttle the surveys.
