Local Help For NYC

Sponsored by:

Local and County firefighters, along with local high school students have raised over 66,000 dollars for disaster relief efforts in New York and for the fallen firefighters who lost their lives in the World Trade Center.

In various locations, firefighters raised 55,000 of the 66,000 dollars on their own time by standing roadside, standing in front of stores, and even in front of their stations.

Two high school students raised the reamining 11,000 dollars by running a Red Cross fund raiser. Jamie Relei and Tessa Bowser, headed up this effort by students, and as the Human Relations Commisioners for the high school, they knew they could help.

Both of the efforts will have their moneys sent to various organizations collecting contributions for relief efforts.
