Firefighters Making Progress In Copperopolis

Copperopolis, CA — CAL Fire now reports that a vegetation fire in the 4500 block of Chuckwagon Drive in Copperopolis is 40-50 percent contained.
Initially CAL FIre estimated that it was 25 acres in size, but officials are now saying that it is closer to 18 acres. There are 133 firefighters on scene, including 15 engines, four crews, four air tankers and two helicopters. The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office reports that there are no evacuation orders at this time. The fire was started when a tree fell into a power line.
