Segarini Recognized By Supervisors
Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Supervisors honored a long-time local business leader.
George Segarini recently retired after spending 17-years as the President and CEO of the Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce. Segarini was given a Certificate of Recognition from the Board this morning. The county’s certificate lists Segarini’s contributions with the Chamber as the following:
1. Promoting major transportation projects like the East Sonora Bypass.
2. Giving the Chamber a voice on several local government committees.
3. Helping the Chamber be more purposefully engaged in government activities through the creation of the Chamber’s Government Affairs Committee (GAC).
4. Engaging the Chamber in local political issues through the creation of its political action committee and hosting of election forums.
5. Ensuring a smooth transition from the former Tuolumne County Economic Development Corporation and Tuolumne County Economic Prosperity Council to the new Tuolumne County Economic Development Authority.
6. In collaboration with the TCEDA, SCORE and Small Business Development Center (SBDC, helped form the Business Alliance of Tuolumne County.
Segarini remains active in the community as a local restaurant owner and member of the Sonora City Planning Commission. As reported earlier, Mike Ayala was recently selected to be Segarini’s successor at the Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce.
