Police Searching For Chase Suspect In Tuolumne
Tuolumne City, CA — There is plenty of police activity in Tuolumne City at this hour. A motorcycle chase has now led to a foot chase in Tuolumne City. The CHP and Tuolumne Sheriff’s deputies are looking for a motorcycle driver. The CHP reports they chased a man on a motorcycle to the area and he jumped off the bike and is now on foot. There is no word on why the man was being chased, but if you see anyone suspicious in the area you are asked to call the CHP at 984-3944. Motorists you will want to use caution in the area. We will bring you more information as soon as it is available.
Update 2:30 pm: CHP Spokesperson Officer Nick Norton says an officer tried to pull the bike over for a traffic violation and that is when the motorcycle driver took off. Norton says, “He fled to right around the ball field or Whitehead Field in Downtown Tuolumne City where he jumped off the bike. He is on foot and we are currently looking for him.”
Update 3 pm: Sheriff’s Deputies and CHP Officers area still searching in the downtown area of Tuolumne city.
Update 3:20 pm: The search has been called off by the CHP. The suspect is still on the loose.
