Sponsored by:

Update at 7:20 p.m.: CAL Fire reports that crews have stopped the fire’s forward rate of spread on the vegetation fire along the 20200 block of Lyons Bald Mountain Road near Greenley Road in Sonora. The fire is a quarter-acre in size and ignited in some grass around 6:40 p.m. All Columbia aircraft have been called off the scene and ground crews will remain to gain full containment and mop up for the next couple of hours. What ignited the fire is under investigation.

Clarke Broadcasting inquired about the hazy smoke in the skies over the area. Dispatch relayed that it is from the Dixie Fire burning in Butte and Plumas counties that is over 217,581 acres and 23% contained.
