Business Park Appeal Pulled
Valley Springs, CA — The developer of a proposed business park in Valley Springs has withdrawn his appeal to Calaveras County Supervisors to approve rezoning land for the project.
The Calaveras County Planning Commission earlier denied the Nove Plaza project proposed by applicant Guy Meyers. Meyers plan was to rezone a 6.7 acre parcel near the intersection of Highway 26 and Nove Way into M4, which is a Business Park. The property is currently zoned General Commercial and General Industrial. The Commission cited changing the zoning would not be consistent with the Valley Springs Community Plan.
Calaveras County Board of Supervisors Chairman Debbie Ponte says, “He [Meyers] is going to pursue some other options available to him. He can apply for perhaps a general plan amendment.”
The Supervisors also took up the issue of expanding a veteran’s memorial wall and erecting a bronze statue of a soldier in Murphys Park.
Ponte says, “The board agreed to include more grounds for the veterans memorial park setting and we waived the $325 building fee permit.”
The Ebbetts Pass Veterans Memorial District’s asked for the additional space and statue.
