InFocus Photography Competition
The InFocus Photography Competition and Exhibition was first held in 1987 and has become one of the Tuolumne County Arts Alliance’s most successful events.
Connie Cassinetto, InFocus Committee Member, was Wednesday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.
The show draws both amateur and professional entries and over the years it has seen a steady increase in both the number of entries and the quality of the photographs accepted into the show.
InFocus offers both cash and merchandise as prizes for the winning photographs in both the color and black and white categories.
A new category, the Excellence in Photography Award, was added a few years ago. It is named for the former resident, and nationally renowned photographer,Charles Moore.
Cassinetto only started to take photography seriously in 2010 and by 2013 she won “Best in Show” for a submitted photograph at the InFocus Exhibition.
InFocus is a program of the Tuolumne County Arts Alliance (formerly the Central Sierra Arts Council), and as such, it is a non-profit exhibition.
All images must be submitted digitally by 11 p.m. on March 19th.
A Reception and Awards ceremony will be held April 26th from 4 – 6 PM. The top photos will be displayed at Angelo’s Hall in Columbia from April 26th – May 3rd.
