San Andreas, CA – Among this week’s Caltrans cone zones, a new rumble strip project setting up along three stretches will likely bring evening and early morning delays.

The installations, which will occur on Highway 49 in Calaveras County, are part of an $823,000 project that is expected to extend into July. The rumble strips will be installed in the median and outside shoulders as a travel safety aid for sleepy and/or inattentive motorists.

Initial work this coming week will focus weekdays, beginning Monday, from 6 p.m. until 7 a.m. on Highway 49 as follows: in the five-mile stretch from just north of the Tuolumne/Calaveras County line to just south of Frogtown Road; the nine-mile segment just north of Copello Drive to Airport Road; and the nearly 11-mile portion between Pool Station Road and the Calaveras/Amador County line. Anticipate ten-minute delays.

More Highway 49 Work Zones

Other work planned along Highway 49 includes excavation operations northbound Highway 49 between Mountain Ranch Road and Main Street, San Andreas weekdays from 6 a.m. until 4 p.m. Caltrans says it is likely to generate minor traffic impacts. Friday only on Highway 49, expect five-minute delays during grinding work scheduled between Lumber Avenue and Pool Station Road from 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

On Highway 12 between the Calaveras/San Joaquin County line and Highway 49, striping operations are back every weeknight, beginning Monday from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. Expect delays of up to ten minutes at a time.

On Highway 26, Tuesday and Wednesday, a utility crew is slated to work between Silver Rapids and Quail Oaks roads from 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. perhaps causing five-minute traffic setbacks.

Cone Zones In Copperopolis, Tuolumne County

Along Highway 4, Tuesday only, look for maintenance crews working under a moving closure between Telegraph Road and four miles west of Hunt Road from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. that may also bring brief delays.

Now, in Tuolumne County, along Highway 120, pavement work Monday only at the Stanislaus/Tuolumne County line from 7 until 6 p.m. may generate delays of up to 15 minutes.

Every weekday a crew is scheduled to conduct crack seal work on Highway 120 between Golden Arrow and Cherry Valley roads during which motorists should expect brief delays. Monday, grinding and paving work that focuses between Tulloch Road and Lovers Leap from 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. may cause five-minute interruptions.

Too, on Highway 132, Tuesday through Thursday, brief delays are possible while maintenance is underway between the Stanislaus/Tuolumne County line and Highway 49, Coulterville, from 6:30 a.m. until 4 p.m.
