Update: Columbia Resources Called To Shingle Springs Fire

Update 4:42 p.m.: CAL Fire reports a vegetation fire in Shingle Springs that broke out earlier this afternoon has been contained at six acres and crews are now mopping up. No structures were involved. Columbia airbase resources, since called off, were among those called to work the incident for which the cause is still under investigation.

Original Post 3:45 p.m.: Amador County, CA — Columbia Airbase resources were called to work on a vegetation fire in Shingle Springs Thursday afternoon.

According to CAL Fire officials, the blaze was described as three to five acres in size and ignited late in the 2 o’clock hour. Good progress is being made with containment shortly anticipated. The location is near South Shingle and Stampede roads, south of Highway 50, according to CAL Fire.
