Tuolumne Lumber Jubilee And More June Events

There are many events planned for this weekend and today, June 20th, 2024.

The Tuolumne Lumber Jubilee celebrates its 75th anniversary starting tomorrow. The event is managed by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4748. Events include the Tuolumne Lumber Jubilee Queen Coronation, DJ music on Friday, Saturday’s music by Hired Gunn, a Saturday morning street parade, food and merchandise vendors all three days, numerous logging competition events, arm wrestling, tug-of-war and more detailes here. Celebrate Juneteenth this Saturday in Columbia. Stand Up, Speak Up, Speak Out!, Inc., a local nonprofit organization dedicated to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility has organized the event. There will be speeches, music and local organizations such as The Tuolumne County Arts Council, Pebbles and Pond, MMLK, and many more. More details about the event are in our event listing here.

In Angels Camp ‘Wine and Whimsy’ presented by Soroptimist International of Calaveras County will begin at 5:30pm. The event, held at Lakeside Drive will feature the wines of Four Winds Cellars and Hovey Winery. Ticket details are here.

A new mural will be unveiled representing the causes of Homelessness in the parking lot of the Game Room in East Sonora. The artwork is by Stefany Haynie via a Heartland Creative Corps Grant. The event will include free ham and turkey sandwiches as well as a goody bag for low-income or unhoused individuals as detailed here.

Saturday a fundraiser for victims of the Aero Fire will be held at the Game Room who has partnered with the Red Cross. Doors open at 5pm and all of the $5 door fee will facilitate funds to be distributed to the Red Cross, community emergency response team volunteers, firefighters, and families who have been displaced by the fire. Saturday Mary Laveroni Park will host Savage Diggins 3rd Annual Anniversary Fundraiser in Groveland. There will be a water slide for kids, cornhole tournament, and raffle for two cords of seasoned wood delivered. A $20 donation fee includes food with all proceeds going to the community. Today is opening night for at Sierra Repertory Theater’s Fallon House location in Columbia for performances of Route 66. The play features sounds from 1950s Chicago to California’s surf music of the 1960s.

Tuolumne County Amateur Radio and Electronics Society (TCARES) will be joining other Amateur Radio operators (Hams) across the county in a 24 hour annual radio contest. The event starts Saturday at the Mi-Wuk Fire station. Details are here.

Fourth Wall Entertainment will present ‘Shakesperience’ at the Metropolitan in San Andreas enjoy ‘An Evening of Culture’ at 6 pm and then Romeo & Juliet at the Metropolitan Park at 7:30 pm Saturday nights only through June 29.

The Twain Harte Mountain Air Market is open today at Eproson Park, and each week on Thursdays with Gaby Castro providing the musical entertainment. View all the planned Summer Music Series bands here.

The Jamestown the Friday Night Bazaar will be held this Friday and every 1st and 3rd Friday in June, July, and August from 5 until 8 PM. The Bazaar is at Rocca Park on Main Street with food and craft vendors, organic produce, family games and live music.

The Twain Harte Summer Concert Series happens Saturdays from 8-10pm by the Twain Harte Pool will have music by Tiffany Rose and the Outlaw Hearts and on Sunday Sally & The Fields.

Saturday evening the Twain Harte Chamber of Commerce will set up Concerts in the Pines from 6 pm to 8pm with Kool Shifters at Eproson Park.

The Standard Farmers Market is open Fridays from 4-8 pm in the parking lot off Peaceful Valley Road in East Sonora. The Angels Camp Farmers Market is also on Fridays from 5-8 pm through October 4th. The Jamestown the Friday Night Bazaar will be held every 1st and 3rd Friday in June, July, and August from 5-8 pm at Rocca Park. The Sonora Farmers Market continues Saturday mornings. The Farmers Market at Murphys Community Park is open this Sunday as detailed here. The Tuolumne Concerts in the Park & Outdoor Market Wednesday concert is Swing Gitane. Calaveras County Arts Council presents the free Music in the Parks Summer Concert Series every Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 8. Each concert is held at different parks throughout the County. Bring your picnic items, blankets & chairs. On Wednesday June 26th, Triple Threat with DJ Ison will perform rock and blues at the Ranch House at Frogtown.

An exhibition of Tuolumne County’s Heartland Creative Corps Grant recipients’ work is available to view Mondays through Thursdays from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM at Columbia College’s Manzanita Building. The exhibit serves as a unique look into the perspectives of the local artists who created art for; Last Earth, Cinco de Mayo: An American Tradition, Flow: A Story of California’s Water, Pareidolia, the WATCH Resources Mosaic Mural, Pebbles in a Pond: The Ripple Effects of Participation in Voting, Life at Water’s Edge, and The Tuolumne County Homelessness Awareness Mural.

Dodge Ridge is open Saturdays and Sundays from 9 AM to 4 PM for mountain biking on trails, hiking, scenic chair rides, and disc golf.

Sierra Bible Church is hosting a Disc Golf Tournament. You do not need to be a member of Sierra Bible Church in order to register now and play on Sunday. Details are here.
