Update: Sonora And Columbia Power Outage Repaired

Update at 3:40 p.m.: PG&E reports that all the power has been restored after a Sonora and Columbia power outage in Tuolumne County. Just after 12:30 p.m., the lights went out for 2,624 customers along Highway 49, Lyons Bald Mountain Road, Greenley Road to the west side of Phoenix Lake, and Parrotts Ferry Road. That number dropped to 139 near Phoenix Lake around 1:30 p.m. There is no immediate word from the company regarding the cause of this outage after an initial statement that “a crew was evaluating the electrical system to identify damaged sections and make necessary repairs in order to safely turn the power back on.”

Update at 1:35 p.m.: PG&E crews have made great progress on a power outage impacting the Sonora and Columbia areas of Tuolumne County. 2,642 customers’ lights went out around 12:30 p.m. along Highway 49, Lyons Bald Mountain Road, Greenley Road to the west side of Phoenix Lake, and Parrotts Ferry Road. The company is now reporting that number has dropped to 139 customers in the Phoenix Lake area. No cause was immediately given by the utility, but the estimated restoration time remains at 7 p.m.
