Mother Lode Assembly And Congressional Candidates
Yesterday the California Secretary of State’s Office released the certified list of candidates that will appear on the June 5th ballot.
Following redistricting, Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties will have new Assembly member.
District Five Candidates include:
Democrats:
Marc Boyd of Arnold (Substitute Teacher)
Tim Fitzgerald of Sonora (Author/Economist)
Republicans:
Frank Bigelow of O’Neals (Rancher/Businessman)
Kevin Lancaster of Soulsbyville (Taxi Driver)
Rico Oller of San Andreas (Independent Business Owner)
No Party Preference:
Mark Belden of Mokelumne Hill (Businessman)
Following redistricting, both Congressman Dan Lungren and Jeff Denham are running for seats outside of the Mother Lode. The candidates for the newly drawn District 4 U.S. House seat include:
Democratic:
Jack Uppal of Lincoln (Retired Business Executive)
Republican:
Tom McClintock (U.S. Representative)
For the Presidential Primary, the only candidate on the Democratic ticket is President Barack Obama. Candidates on the Republican ballot are Newt Gingrich, Fred Karger, Ron Paul, Buddy Roemer, Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum.
Five Democrats will challenge Dianne Feinstein in her U.S. Senate Re-election bid. They are Colleen Shea Fernald, David Alex Levitt, Nak Shah, Diane Stewart and Mike Strimling. Running on the Republican side are John Boruff, Oscar Alejandro Braun, Greg Conlon, Elizabeth Emken, Rogelio T. Gloria, Dan Hughes, Dennis Jackson, Dirk Allen Konopik, Donald Krampe, Robert Lauten, Al Ramirez, Nachum Shifren, Orly Taitz and Rick Williams.
