Graduation Day Coming Up

Columbia, CA– The 42nd Columbia College Commencement Ceremony will take place Friday, April 29th at 6:30 pm in the Oak Pavilion.


Among the graduating class, 105 Associate in Arts degrees will be handed out, 60 Associate in Science degrees, 18 Associate in Science (Occupational Education) degrees, and 66 Certificates of Achievement. Twenty students will also graduate with distinction (cumulative grade point averages of 3.75 or better) and 16 with honors (between 3.5 and 3.74 grade point averages).


Those who will receive both A.A. and A.S. or A.S.O.E degrees are Laura Elena Corral, Andrea Gail Dickinson, Natalie Ann Gray, Anna Natasha Mozingo, Goldie Helene Thompson, and Jordan Robert Webb.


In addition, both Associate degrees and certificates will be presented to Yanet Casillas, Evelyn Felicia Bruenn, Kyle Allen Fountain, Dena Marie Herd, Shane David King, Shannon Lee Martin, Allyson Elaine Rasor, Casey M. Silva, Jordan Robert Webb, and Brandy Leanne Word.


Robert Divinagracia, Vice President of the Associated Students of Columbia College, will deliver the welcome address. Nancy Bull, President of the Classified Senate and Raelene Juarez, President of the Academic Senate will convey the college’s welcome. The student graduation address will be delivered by Jessica Capito and the concluding student farewell will be by Gary Donschikowski.


Dr. Richard Jones, Columbia College Interim President will introduce the class of 2011. He will be joined on-stage by Yosemite Community College District (YCCD) Trustees, as well as YCCD Chancellor, Dr. Joan Smith.
