Field Poll Favors Whitman

Sacramento, CA – A new Field Poll shows that Meg Whitman has a sizeable lead over challenger Steve Poizner in the Republican Primary for Governor.
In its final pre-election survey, the Field Poll finds Whitman leading Poizner by a 51 percent to 25 percent margin among likely Republican voters. Six percent say they favor another candidate and 18 percent remain undecided.
The results also show that 62 percent of likely Republican voters view Whitman in a favorable light, and 40 percent have a favorable view of Poizner.
The winner of the primary is expected to face Democratic frontrunner Jerry Brown in the race for Governor.
