Rocky Top Fire Damage

Sonora, CA– Firefighters contained a vegetation fire that broke out yesterday on Rocky Top End Road and Big Hill Road.
Air resources from Columbia had been dispatched as well as Cal Fire units from San Andreas. The fire was 1 acre in size, although initial reports indicated the fire had burned 2 acres. There was damage caused to a 1978 jeep and a pump house. The estimated dollar amount for damage to the vehicle and vegetation is $5,200.
The fire started shortly after 2 pm and was extinguished by 6:49 pm. The cause is still under investigation.
