Summerville High’s Measure G Fails

Sponsored by:

All of the provisional ballots have been counted in Tuolumne County from the November 2nd General Election.

Measure G for Summerville High School has failed receiving 54.08 percent. It needed 55 percent in order to pass. The results were expected to be certified this week.

Summerville High Superintendnt John Keiter was Thursday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.

Measure G would have modernized classrooms and school facilities, including handicapped accessibility improvements; upgraded technology; improved energy efficiency; made health and safety improvements; and have improved athletic facilities for both school and community use.

Keiter said that current budgets will be looked at once again, but the overall need for improvement will continue.

The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard each weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47am.
