Mother Lode Community Helps Those In Need

Sponsored by:

The Mother Lode community came out in force to help those in need at Clarke Broadcasting’s Santa Fly-In Food, Coat and Cash Drive for Interfaith Saturday at Standard Park.

Interfaith Executive Director Cathie Peacock says an overwhelming number of cash donations, coats and food items were collected. The final numbers are still being tabulated, but well over 2,200 coats and thousands of pounds of canned and boxed goods were dropped off. Additionally, well over $23,000 was raised from the on-air cash drive Thursday and Friday on Star 92.7 and 93.5 KKBN, combined with cash donations dropped off Saturday.

Santa arrived at noon in a helicopter thanks to PHI Air Med and Tuolumne County ambulance, much to the delight of hundreds of children across the Mother Lode. Multiple community organizations came out to volunteer and perform music.
