CAL Fire Firefighters Out To Fight Muscular Dystrophy

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Close to a dozen CAL Fire firefighters are giving up a day of vacation to collect funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The site of the collection was originally announced as Mono Way and Tuolumne Rd. but has since been changed to Mono Way and the Taco Bell entrance to the Junction Shopping Center.

Fire trucks are on site to signify the fundraising effort entitled "Fill The Boot" for the M.D.A.

CAL Fire firefighter Kevin O’Meara commented that all the funds raised today will remain in Tuolumne County.

CAL Fire Firefighters Collecting MDA Donations at Junction Shopping Center (3/13/09).

The firefighters are easy to spot. They are in full gear with helmets, boots, etc. and they’re asking passing motorists to give as much as possible for "Jerry’s (Lewis) Kids."

Since 1954 firefighters have raised in excess of $200 million nationwide for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
