Sonora City Council Meeting Moves To Tuesday

Sonora, CA — An update on the Greenley Rd.-North South Connector will be one of many items on the Tuesday evening Sonora City Council meeting which starts at five o´clock at City Hall.

City Administrator Greg Applegate states that this complicated and extremely expensive project has been on the books for over 20 years. The project would basically alleviate the Hwy 49 downtown traffic.

A closed session will deal with labor negotiations regarding the Sonora Employees´ Association Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the period of July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2011.

Department heads Mace McIntosh (Police Department), Mike Barrows (Fire Department) and Ed Wyllie (Public Works Department/Community Development Department) will present their monthy reports and District One Supervisor Liz Bass will also present her monthly report.

In addition there will be consideration of adopting a Succession Plan for the City of Sonora. Also there will be reconsideration of a request by the Tuolumne County Community Cable 8 Access, Inc. for city funding to help pay for operational costs.

The City Council´s third Monday of the month meeting has been rescheduled for tomorrow evening due to the Presidents´ Day holiday.
