Snowboarders Go Missing In Yosemite
Yosemite, Ca — A full scale search is underway in Yosemite National Park for three snowboarders who were reported missing when they failed to meet their ride near the community of Yosemite West, close to the park´s western boundary.
The three were snowboarding in an isolated area of the park near the Yosemite West Junction and were last seen at around 2pm Monday.
Park Spokesperson Adrienne Freeman says the search was initiated from the point that they started snowboarding, and she notes that tracks matching their description have been found in that vicinity.
“These folks are from the local area, and there is no indication that they are not prepared to handle these conditions,” says Freeman.
Helping with the search are teams from Mariposa County Search and Rescue and Yosemite National Park. Air resources are being used as well.
