Beck Jailed On Felony Arson Charge

Sonora, CA — 36 year old Benjamin Luther Beck is being held in the Tuolumne County Jail on a charge of felony arson.
Late Thursday evening Bill Meissner, the owner of the 49´er RV Park in Columbia noticed that his wood pile was on fire. He extinguished the blaze and retired for the evening.
Friday he noticed gasoline splashed around his trailer and vehicles. CAL Fire investigators and Sheriff´s deputies determined the fire to be an act of arson. After gathering evidence they arrested Beck who worked for Meissner.
Beck is being held on $100,000 bail.
