Knight’s Mother Speaks Out About Slawinskys

Sponsored by:

Sonora, Ca — The mother of Carl Stephen Knight says there is still not closure even though the Slawinsky brothers of Jamestown have been sentenced to 11 years in prison for the voluntary manslaughter of her son.

?I want to give Carl a headstone, and let his three-year-old daughter know that his remains are at rest,? says Debra Knight. ?I´d like to give him a proper burial and a proper funeral.?

Knight and the Slawinsky brothers were involved in an altercation on April 6, and the body of the victim has not been located. ?This was not a case of a fair fight or accidental death,? says Knight. ?These two waste of humanity human beings went way beyond the means of self defense.?

The family of Carl Stephen Knight spent around $30,000 to bring in equipment to conduct a comprehensive search of Lake Don Pedro, but the victim´s body was never located. Knight´s mother concedes that the body is most likely not in Lake Don Pedro as what was previously thought, but says the family will continue in its efforts to learn where his remains currently are resting.

The sentencing for the Slawinskys was handed down Thursday afternoon in Tuolumne County Superior Court by Judge Eric Du Temple. The brothers must serve no less than 85 percent of the sentence, or nine years and four months.
