New Ore Cart Welcomes Calaveras County Visitors

Angels Camp, CA — A new ore cart sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce Visitors Bureau is welcoming visitors to Calaveras County.

The ore cart is located on Parrotts Ferry Rd. approximately a half mile north of the bridge.

The Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce´s ore cart program began eight years ago with the placement of a cart on Hwy 12. Today there are ore carts on Hwy 26 in Jenny Lind, Hwy 26 in West Point, Highway 49 in Mokelumne Hill and Hwy 4 outside of Copperopolis.

The final cart is slated to be placed on Hwy 49 at the Stevenot Bridge in the not too distant future with the cooperation of Caltrans and the county.

The carts are designed and built by Distinctive Metals in Angels Camp and placed by Chamber volunteers.
