Tuolumne County Will Continue To Pay Dispatch Fees
Sonora, CA — The C.D.F.-Tuolumne County Fire Department and the City of Sonora are breathing a sigh of relief thanks to a decision by the Tuolumne County Board of Directors to have the county continue to be responsible for dispatch fees.
There had been some talk within the county that the aforementioned agencies should be responsible for those fees. C.D.F. Unit Chief Mike Noonan stated that possibility was starting to damage what has always been a tremendous working relationship between his department and other fire agencies.
Noonan added that fire agencies throughout the county are already dreadfully short of resources. Adding fees already being paid by the county would have resulted in a drastic hardship.
The dispacth center for Tuolumne and Calaveras counties, the Emergency Command Center, is located in San Andreas.
