Sonora Police Department Seeking Increased Fees

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — When the Sonora City Council meets this evening, Police Chief Mace McIntosh will request that the city double the current fee for releasing impounded vehicles to the owners.

The current fee is $50 … McIntosh is seeking a $100 fee. The Sheriff´s Department currently charges four times the city´s amount for a vehicle release.

In addition the Police Department will ask the city to charge businesses and home owners a $50 fee for any false alarms after the first four in a six month period. Currently there is no charge for the city´s response to a false alarm, regardless the number in any time period.
