Tuolumne Man Arrested After Trying To Hide From Authorities
Sonora, CA — Twenty six year old Clayton Gandy of Tuolumne was arrested after attempting to hide from authorities.
Gandy was wanted on numerous warrants, including vandalism, possession of a controlled substance, battery on a deputy and failure to appear in court.
On Thursday morning, a deputy spotted Gandy in a vehicle driven by 29 year old April Wingate of Sonora. Later in the day, a deputy was able to locate Wingate´s vehicle. Gandy, however, was nowhere is sight.
In the back seat a loaded handgun was found. While Wingate was being placed under arrest, a deputy found Gandy hiding in a bathroom at a nearby residence.
Gandy and Wingate were both transported to Tuolumne County Jail. The handgun, it turns out, was stolen from a Sonora resident in 2002.
