Calaveras Building Audit Complete

San Andreas, CA — The final audit of the Calaveras County Building Department is complete and identifies several deficiencies contributing to the department´s overall effectiveness.
JAS Pacific, the consultant that performed the audit, says staff is not adequately trained or certified.
Additionally, it says policies are lacking and not being properly or legally implemented.
The report points out that some employees were reviewing and inspecting their own personal projects creating an ethical conflict of interest.
The Board of Supervisors will hear a report on the audit sometime in May.
