Sponsored by:

San Andreas, Ca — At 8 a.m. Monday morning, CAL FIRE will officially open Fire Season in the Tuolumne/Calaveras Unit (TCU) and the Stanislaus National Forest.

This includes the counties of Calaveras, Tuolumne and portions of San Joaquin and Stansilaus. Burning will only be allowed by permit between the hours of 7pm and 8am on permissive burn days.

All TCU and Stanislaus National Forest Fire Stations will be open and staffed. Officials say Helicopter 404 is currently in full operation at the Columbia Air Attack Base, with the Air Attack and two Air Tankers scheduled to come on base on June 16th. All fire crews at Baseline and Vallecito Conservation Camps are currently available.

CAL FIRE Chief Mike Noonan urges all citizens to act soon to dispose of yard trimmings and debris. He says it is anticipated that all burning will be suspended as early as June 1st. For complete information on Fire Season click FIRE INFO.
