Summerville Elementary Student Reports Molestation

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Tuesday evening a nine year old boy from Summerville Elementary School reported that he had been sexually molested.

The unidentified youngster said that a male in his forties, between 5-6 and 5-10 with a slender to average build wearing a blue and white baseball cap, a red shirt, blue gym shorts and sandals approached him. The man then coerced the youngster to walk with him at the intersection of Laurel and Pine.

The molestation incident reportedly took place in the area of the Laurel and Main St. intersection. The boy then ran home.

The Tuolumne County Office of Education was alerted by the Sheriff´s Department and an immediate communique was sent to all schools.

Lt. Dan Bressler stated that whether or not this incident really did happen, parents should always walk with their children to and from school or have their youngsters walk with a group … never alone. Bressler added that children should always be aware of their immediate surroundings.

One suspect was interviewed but was not placed under arrest. Sheriff´s deputies are continuing to search the immediate area.
