Mandatory Evacuation Still In Effect In Valley Springs

Valley Springs, CA — In an effort to return people who were required to leave their homes under mandatory evacuation order on Tuesday, Calaveras County officials are working around the clock to complete repairs to the Peachtree Pond Dam.
The evacuation status is being reviewed and updated every four hours as reports of the repairs are received from the engineers.
More than 60 homes remain evacuated in Valley Springs. Residents needing sandbags can pick them up at the government center in San Andreas, the Public Works yard in Jenny Lind and the Foothill Fire Station in Valley Springs.
