Burn Permits Suspended Monday
San Andreas, CA — Starting Monday at 8:00am burning debris in the Mother Lode will be illegal.
The Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection has suspended all burning permits within State Responsibility Areas.
Nancy Longmore with CDF says burning has been suspended because of the increased fire danger due to the high temperatures we have been experiencing in the Mother Lode.
She says that most likely the suspension will not be lifted until late October, when the area has received an adequate amount of rainfall.
CDF officials say camp fires will be allowed in designated areas as long as they are cooking fires, or warming fires.
