Sponsored by:
Sonora, CA — That is the word from Sonora Police Chief Mace McIntosh.
Unlike other years, McIntosh says public drunkeness definitely increased this year with a number of arrests being made throughout the four day fair at the Fairgrounds.
Saturday evening, in one incident in the livestock area, six arrests were made for intoxication and the assault of police officers.
McIntosh adds that alcohol, which is sold at the Fair, is a leading contributor to individuals acting irrationally, losing their temper and acting in a belligerent manner.
No injuries were suffered by Sonora Police officers.
