Calaveras Changes Meeting Schedule
San Andreas, CA — Beginning next year, Calaveras County joins every other county in the state and will meet on Tuesdays.
Monday the Board of Supervisors passed a resolution changing their meeting day from Mondays beginning January 2, 2007.
Supervisor Bill Claudino initiated the change saying it was long overdue. He says it makes sense logistically and better serves county staff and the public.
Two supervisors voted against the change. Supervisor Tom Tryon says there wasn´t a compelling enough reason for it and Supervisor Merita Callaway says she has a recurring meeting on one Tuesday each month.
The move will not take effect until January to allow the courts, which use the board chambers on Tuesday, time to adjust its schedule.
