Clarke Broadcasting & Red Cross Team Up For Rescue Relief 2005
Sonora, CA — Clarke Broadcasting is spearheading a community-wide, Tuolumne and Calaveras County fundraiser in conjunction with the local American Red Cross for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
On Wednesday, KVML, Star 92.7, 93.5 KKBN and MyMotherlode.com will broadcast live from the local American Red Cross office at 13669 Mono Way near the Junction Shopping Center from 10am until 6pm.
During the all day broadcast, area businesses and citizens are invited to bring their cash donations to the Red Cross, who will in turn send them to the ravaged, torn gulf region to speed immediate relief.
The early outpouring of local $1,000 donors includes Blue Mountain Minerals, Black Oak Casino, Birdies Restaurant at Mountain Springs, Central California Bank, Mother Lode Bank, Papa´s New Roost/Lazy Z Resort, Simply Country Home Furnishings, Sonora Area Foundation, Sonora Regional Medical Center, Yosemite Title and Clarke Broadcasting.
Dozens of other businesses and hundreds of local residents are expected to contribute Wednesday between 10am and 6pm at the American Red Cross Broadcast off Mono Way.
Additional huge corporate contributions have already been made in the amounts of $100,000 from the Kautz family and Ironstone Vineyards, and $10,000 and still growing by Black Oak Casino.
