One Dead, One Seriously Injured In Calaveras Crash
San Andreas, CA — A Sacramento man is dead and another is seriously injured following a single vehicle accident Saturday night.
CHP says 21-year-old Omar Alvarez was driving a 1995 Ford Thunderbird with a passenger, 19-year-old Everado Alvarez, westbound on Highway 12 near the Highway 49 junction when the car drifted to the right shoulder.

Investigators say the car was broken into two separate pieces after it hit a tree. The front portion of the car continued down the embankment and hit a second tree.
Everado Alvarez was ejected from the vehicle before it struck a barbed wire fence and a third tree. He was transported to Mark Twain Hospital where he died of his injuries.
Omar Alvarez was air-lifted to Memorial Hospital in Modesto with internal injuries and head trauma .
CHP says Omar will be charged with vehicular manslaughter, felony DUI and driving without a license.
